Hi! My name is Brenna and I’m a professional counselor associate. I received my Master of Counseling from Oregon State University in 2023, though I have worked in the mental health field in some capacity since 2004. My approach to counseling is person-centered and solution-focused. While I employ therapeutic techniques from a variety of theories – internal family systems, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and Gestalt, mostly – my goal is to use what works best for an individual. I work with adults and enjoy helping people with a variety of presenting problems, including depression, anxiety, phobias, bipolar disorders, and grief, as well as issues related to sex and sexuality, and issues related to aging. Much of my past experience is in working with older adults. I’m easy-going while still being present, positive without being overly optimistic, and pragmatic without being stuffy.
Humans are complex creatures. You are the expert on your own life. As a counselor, it is my aim to understand the various aspects of who you are, how those aspects intersect, and your unique experiences in order to help you navigate the odyssey that is life.
